RRSO XIV (2016)

Welcome to the "REAL" Red River Shootout (RRSO).  As all serious chess players know, this is the annual team match between the most fanatical chess players in Oklahoma and Texas.

Since the first match on April 27, 2003, 662 tough chess games have been contested by a total of 249 players in fourteen matches and other RRSO events. Texas leads the series 9 to 5 despite playing on the road thirteen out of the fourteen times.

Oklahoma currently enjoys the title as well as possession of the Famous Traveling Trophy.  For RRSO XV the stakes are even higher as Oklahoma will be going for its first THREE-PEAT.

Interested Players should always check this website for details about future RRSO Team Chess Matches around the beginning of each year.

RRSO XV plans have been finalyzed by the two sponsoring organizations (the Oklahoma Chess Foundation and the Tarrant County Chess Club).  Match details are immediately below.  Good luck Everyone!
